Bigfoot! P-OT

Space: Making it feel close
  1. “It was directly across the river” p1 this does make seem more urgent because it seem close in proximity
  2. ‘Around the corner, about half a mile..”p 2
Repetition: say it again and again and again
  1. “Whooooaahhhh” p2 although there is repetition here, I don't know if it necessarily pertains to the argument
Abstract: Hierarchy of abstract values
  1. “between the two of us we have about 60 years of night fishing and hunting in this area and this was a first” p2 because they have combined experience, he feels as though he has credibility
  2. “I've spent the good part of my life gill net fishing at night on this river..”p2
Quantity: more of good is better
  1. “between the two of us we have about 60 years of night fishing and hunting in this area and this was a first” p2 they consider the experience to be a good
Comparison: Two things are examined as if their similarities and differences were measurable
  1. “I remember trying to put a body with the sound and not coming up with anything” p2 This is them trying to make a comparison of the noise being made and of something they can make a connection to and coming up with no connection.
Presence: event strikes the imagination in connection with the rule
  1. “ whoahhh” I was a little freaked out because I have never heard anything like this” leaving the solution to the issue, to the reader's imagination and making connections

  1. I feel like the argument you're making so far is that these guys just really don't have enough evidence to say they really heard Bigfoot (especially if all they did was hear some weird sounds and they didn't even see anything). They try to appear really credible by mentioning how they fish in the area a lot, but clearly that isn't enough. The whole thing just sounds like a fake scary story you'd tell around a campfire.

  2. It seems the thesis being molded is that these two claim a bunch of experience and a few weird sounds to confirm they made contact with bigfoot. Possibly their time in the woods has familiarized them with mating calls or just calls in general. Then they applied that to two bigfoots calling each other. I'm honestly grasping at straws for some other perspectives.

  3. First of all, idk how this is a Class B report when they essentially just yelled as some weird animal they've never heard before lol. Is there a BFRO comment? It might be good to comment on the fact that there isn't one if there isn't as it would make this story seem really fake if the Bigfoot community didn't even want to respond to it. Essentially, you really only have the option of explaining why these folks are not that credible with the only counter-argument being that they apparently know that area fairly well. However you really put it though, there simply is not enough evidence for really anything here to claim that this is truly Bigfoot. It might also be beneficial to look at other reports near the area and see if similar sounds have been heard. That could potentially make this seem more credible OR make this seem even more like a bandwagon depending on the way you view it/read the other reports.
