When Lightning Struck My Neighbors House Coffee Ad #17

This ad begins with a sudden emergency as a neighbor's house is hit by lightning. The ad goes on to reveal how one needs to make coffee throughout day to day life as the neighbor comes to her house to make coffee. Furthermore, the idea that coffee can be beneficial at all times is shown through the first woman going to make coffee right after her house had been struck by lightning. The ad also alludes multiple times to Folger's "mountain-grown" taste. This alludes to nature and introduces an ideal that the coffee is both fresh and as natural as coffee can be. The ad then shows the woman serving coffee to her husband, appealing to a wife as a way to satisfy her spouse. The ad concludes with another picture alluding to the great taste of Folgers that separates them from all other coffee companies

  1. The explanation of this ad was very descriptive and informational, and I appreciated the clarification at the top so the reader knows what is going on. However, the ad itself is a bit blurry and I couldn’t read the text (but I can’t be one to talk because mine is a bit blurry as well). I would have also liked to see some schemes, tropes and other things to really pull this together so readers could get a better understanding of this analyzation. However, the points drawn from the ad itself make sense and aren’t confusing, and I appreciate the effort to imagine what life was like in this time period.

  2. The descriptive detail you have in this ad is great and gets straight to the point. The ad is a little blurry but it also might be my bad eyes I have so not entirely your fault. The points you made on the ad itself are great and keep it really descriptive throughout the analysis. It sounds like through your words that you are really understanding your ad and know what are you talking about.

  3. The ad itsself has a lot going on and i think you did a great job of summerizing the whole story while also showing us what things from the ad had an underlying meaning. The only thing i wish that i saw was the schemes and trope names just to know exactly what the ad is showing us. other than that it was great.
