 OUTLINE

 

 

INTRODUCTION

 

Attention Getter: Baseball (agree or disagree, the best sport every made) combine with cereal. AMAZING

 

 

Purpose: The ad appears to be showing a young baseball player and umpire of the game enjoying cereal knowing the score of the game must be really good for the team. 

 

 

Qualification: (I) analyzing the ad 

 

 

Preview: Main Schemes & tropes, Visual, Types in the cereal ad

 

 

Body:

 

Point one: Schemes & tropes

·       Tricolon: Three parts for the saying, “Best Liked, Best Flavored, Worst to run out of”

·       Repetition of one word: BEST

·       Exaggeration to the cereal: the best to you each morning 

 

 

Point two: Visual

·       Eye-level, even with the people in the ad

·       Representationally Identifying items such as the ball, milk, and cereal on table. Baseball player and umpire

·       Varies colors of red background yellow table, black umpire suit 

 

 

Point three: type 

·       Underlining for words in the ad, best and worst

·       Text type not all the same

 

 

Conclusion:

 

Purpose: Analyze that the baseball player and umpire must be having a good game that during the time are enjoying cereal

 

 

Subpoint: mentioned Schemes & tropes, visuals, type of the ad

 

 

Clincher: Talk about a possible score of the ad

  4. Hey Cristina, I'm having a little trouble discerning your thesis. The statement made in the ad "they know the score" isn't actually referring to the score of an actual game in question, Rather referring to the "score" between Corn Flakes and other cereals. This point seems crucial in analyzing the ad for its effectiveness. Besides this point, your outline looks good.
