I think your thesis could imply that this Ad is saying that Kelloggs brings both your family and that interacial familys should be embraced. I notice that there is four bowls of cereal meaning everyone in the family is eating a bowl of Kellogg's, bringing them together. Everyone is having a great time enjoying the cereal together, implying Kellogg"s with bring your family back together. I also notice that the mother seems to be white and the father is black, supporting interacial familys. I think this is worth mentioning because the ad seems kind of older so I think this was a pretty progressive thing back whenever this ad was made. I think you could work off of the ideologys of hegemony or naturalization
I think a good thesis here could delve into the intentional use of visual elements such as lighting, color, and figures to represent and celebrate a black American family. The analysis explores how the ad strategically employs these elements not only to represent cultural identity but also challenge traditional advertising norms. This thesis fosters a connection with the audience and challenging conventional ideas about taste and nutrition in breakfast cereal.
I think a good thesis to develop for this ad is the marketing of portraying this family as the typical family. You see the white walls, and floral patterns. The abundance of food and nice clothes is meant to implicate that this family is able to buy other food if need be but still decided to buy Corn Flakes. However, they still kept the subtle separation from other adds, a red outline on the text, a "colored" box around the image. Usually the faces in adds would be clear and concise yet here you lose the fathers and daughters face to shadows. How this add tries to appeal to the black consumers while maintaining a separation between classes without blatantly drawing lines.
