Boys will be GOOD HUMANS
The person who made a sign took a twist on the saying “boys will be boys” and changed it to “boys will be GOOD HUMANS”. The original quote can be considered an epanalepsis since the word ‘boys’ is at the beginning and end of the statement. That original statement refers to the idea that boys can act like children, and it should be expected from them. To this day, it has become the idiom used an excuse for men of all ages and how they have unwanted or rowdy behavior.
The sign takes on a twist on this Idiom by showing that there should be a higher standard held on men to not act the way this epanalepsis insists they act, but to also be respectful to other people, especially females.
