Sucky Santa by Megan Larsen

  1. I think that your points definitely are supportive of your thesis. I liked how you mentioned that is unclear if this is taking place before or after Christmas. I do agree that this ad is targeted at parents who work hard to set up Christmas and need a drink or two after. I'm not sure if I agree that the ad is selling Christmas as a joke, but I do think your premises help to support your argument.

  2. I agree with you in that this ad is to appeal to parents. That is, If I saw this when I was a kid my childhood would probably be ruined. Further, I disagree with your argument that this ad is trying to highlight the deceitfulness of Christmas. Rather I think this ad is really just trying to get parents to think "Hey, Santa's having a beer. I can relate to that!" to make them buy the product.

  3. Your argument can go any way. Yes santa can relate and yeah there may be more arguments but stick with one and make sure you have the evidence you need to support it. Alison and Mason both make great points just try and get what you need while not leaving your argument as there are many that can arise from this one. Make sure you stick with it

  4. I like your argument and the support you gave for it. As long as you back up your argument then you will be fine!
