Good data so far. Now that you have all the connecting pieces make a bigger connection. I think that this ad is saying that women need to drink Pepsi to make them more appealing to men. This could be a relation to eating disorders, because the man is obviously grilling food in the picture, and it looks as if the woman is generously refusing the offer to eat, why? because she has her Pepsi, which is supposed to fill her up. I think some of the elements could support this argument, keep up the good work!
A lot of the adds seem to have women obeying the men. What does this mean about the time period? Are all these outdoorsy activities with women and family privileges for a certain class of people? Or just people that indulge in drinking this soda?
I agree with Rodolfo. This looks like a sexist ad. It would make sense because feminism was at it's peak at this time. If you look, you can tell that the woman is kind of serving the man. Do you think they made this ad like this on purpose or unintentially? Why is the man the one sitting and enjoying himself. There's a lot of things that could offend people in this ad and they probably didn't realize the impact of this ad because it was more neutral then. Overall, I think you are going in the right direction and keep going!
I don't see you argument. My argument would be is it good to over stuff yourself with fatty foods as long as you drink a Pepsi, you will not become obese?
