Although the ACT UP social movement against AIDS did help to drastically change the state of the AIDS epidemic for the better, they nearly didn’t achieve such success due to apathy that clouded their initial drive towards the later stages of the epidemic.

Conclusion
ACT UP did contribute a lot towards the movement to better the state of the AIDS epidemic. It created a sense of empathy that showed that those infected were everyday people, and were unafraid to express and showcase their anger in order to be heard and seen. However, the quality of their contributions towards the movement didn't always remain the best, and hindered them from progressing at a more desirable rate.
